Remote Support Setup

Remote support setup

Set up remote support once, and next time your computer acts up, we can connect and fix it in minutes. Follow these steps, then call us at 905-357-9222.

1Download RustDesk

Free. This is the official RustDesk program, already set up to connect to Cyberdyne. Don't rename the file. On a Mac? Get RustDesk from the official site and do the one-time setting in step 2.

2Open it and install it

Double-click the file you just downloaded. If Windows asks "Do you want to allow this app?", click Yes.

In the RustDesk window, click Install and keep the normal settings. This puts a RustDesk icon on your desktop, so next time you need help it's ready to go. You don't have to install it, but it makes the next session much faster.

Only if you got RustDesk somewhere else, or it says "not ready": set it to use Cyberdyne. Click the three dots next to "Your ID", then Network, then ID/Relay server, and enter:

  • ID server: cyberdyne.ca
  • Key: uqxuHID5gUNTvw7bBMO8OtBt38fiuZUtfGb6jM7qSmw=

If you see "Unlock network settings", click it and click Yes first. We can help you with this on the phone.

3Call us and read us your ID and password

RustDesk shows Your ID (a number) and a one-time password. Read both to us. When we connect, click Accept. When the job is done, close RustDesk to end the connection.

Only do this if you called Cyberdyne at 905-357-9222, or we're on the phone with you now. We never call out of the blue asking to get into your computer, and we never ask for your passwords or for gift cards.

Next time: double-click the RustDesk icon on your desktop, call us, and read us the ID and password it shows. That's it.
