2How our fees work
A quick check is always free. Most problems are found in 5 to 15 minutes, and giving you a price is free too.
Some problems take longer to find. A computer that crashes now and then, or won't start for no clear reason, can take a couple of hours of swapping in known-good parts and testing them one at a time. We'll tell you before we start this kind of testing.
We only charge a fee when:
Printer repairs: $50 service fee. Printer repairs take a lot of time. We take the printer apart, clean the print heads and ink system with special cleaning chemicals, and test it again and again. Many inkjet printers can't be saved even after all that work, so the fee covers our time and the cleaning supplies, whether or not the repair works.
We have to open your device, order a part, or try a repair that fails: $25 to $60. For example, if we try to fix a water-damaged laptop and the main board can't be saved, the fee is up to $60. This doesn't happen often.
In-depth diagnosis: free if we do the repair, $45 if you don't. If we find the problem and you decide not to have us fix it, the $45 covers those hours of testing and putting your device back together the way it came in. You still leave knowing exactly what's wrong.
